The mission of FamilyWise is strengthening families through promoting the safety, stability and wellbeing of children. We are a local nonprofit that provides parenting education and support for adults and teen parents, supervised parenting time and safe exchange services, wraparound services for youth with mental health issues, and early childhood education.

At this time, FamilyWise has a specific need for board members who:
DIVERSITY: One of our Board development goals is to ensure Board members represent a broad and diverse set of perspectives in line with or organizational values. We are particularly interested in adding leaders who bring lived experience related to child welfare issues.
• EXPERTISE: The following skills sets and expertise that will help to move the organization forward: Financial Management -- Fundraising/Marketing – Technology
We’re looking for Board members who:
• Are committed to FamilyWise's mission, goals, and values;
• Are willing to serve as an ambassador to build the reach and influence of our network; and
• Are committed to making a personally meaningful gift.
The Board meets 7 times per year: January, March, May, July, September, November and December. In addition, we ask all board members to participate on one of our four committees: Executive, Marketing and Development, Finance and Governance and Recruitment. Committees meet monthly. Board members are elected for a term of 2 years, which can be renewed twice for a term limit of six years total.
The board is a governance and strategy board, providing guidance and leadership to the organization. FamilyWise is a 510(c)3 and board members have financial, legal and governance responsibilities associated with this volunteer role.Ann Gaasch
