Young Artists Initiative

Young Artists Initiative (YAI) is a nonprofit theater arts organization that transforms the lives of young people, their families, and communities through high-quality theater productions and outreach programming. YAI uses theater arts to bridge communities and promote inclusion, creative collaboration, and hands-on learning. Now, in our 17th season, YAI is refocusing its efforts to mold young artists, and transforming lives. We are actively seeking new individuals to join our Board of Directors. If your goals and aspirations align with our mission and values, then this is a great opportunity to make a lasting impact at a local nonprofit organization.

Arts, Culture and Humanities

YAI is searching for unique skill sets to help benefit our community and ask that future board members have an interest in at least one of the following categories:
· Community Outreach
· Business Development
· Fund Development & Grant Writing
· Marketing Communications & Publicity
· Artistic Production
· Event & Volunteer Coordination

· Attend two-hour board meetings that are held once a month
· The board conducts a self-review in May-June and an annual retreat in January
· Join and participate on a committee team (committee teams also meet an hour a month)
· Support and actively participate YAI scheduled events, shows, and fundraisers
· Expect to commit an average of 2-6 hours per month outside of monthly meetings for governance and project duties (commitments increase during productions and special events)

We are a governing board, though we all wear other volunteer hats, such as committee chairs, event helpers, box office managers, and more. As a member of the board, the main function is to be a primary force pressing the organization to the realization of its opportunities for service and fulfillment of its obligations.
